El tiempo es perdido cuando nosotros lo consideramos como tal y no lo aprovechamos, pero estoy seguro, que el gran nuevo maestro del Soul, el blanquito con voz de negro de Boston, no lo ha perdido y a sus 27 primaveras y tres discos a sus espaldas. Lo único que hace es disfrutar de ese don que tiene para estremecer almas y peloempuntar espíritus. Hacía mucho que no lo escuchaba y el otro día apareció de pronto por mi vida otra vez, y recorde, aquella, si perdida, oportunidad de verle y que siempre me penará...

Nada mejor que una ración de Soul....pero del bueno....

Cuanto me he arrepentido de no haber podido asistir al concierto de este buen hombre estas navidades...creo que es más que una experiencia...es un delirio. Nuevo album, que me dispondré a comprar en cuanto tenga un rato, porque creo que mi mulita no puede con el peso de un tio tan grande, y además se lo merece...y sino escuchad el single de presentación del disco que se titula del mismo modo. Buscando algún datillo más en su página web, apareció esta versión acustica y en directo, con dos guitarras y unas sonajas, más dos muchachillos haciendo los coros...para que más con ese peazo de voz que gasta el tío?. Es-pec-ta-cu-lar!!!

¿Qué tal comenzar el fin de semana con una buena ración de Soul?...

Y nada menos que de la mano de uno de los grandes...¡Que voz, que desgarro, que potencia, que tema!. Marvin uno de los mayores representantes del sonido Motown, me encanta en este tema porque le ves desgarrarse en el escenario con alaridos y gestos de rabia todo para decirle a una chica, pero es que no te estas dando cuenta que estamos hechos el uno para el otro? Pero, vamos arriesgate, dejate caer en el vacio que yo te recogere entre mis brazos para hacerte vibrar, vamos, venga...es esa insitencia en la letra y ese convencimiento en la voz la que hacen del tema una gozada auditiva.

Continuando con el Actual 2010...he aquí uno de los conciertos estrella...

Y digo bien, pues este buen hombre se configura como una verdadera voz en el panorama musical actual lejos de banales cantantes de listas de ventas. Lo escuche por primera vez en el Torreón, pero como son tantas las cosas que se me acumulan en mi lista de espera y algunas se pierden en la memoria. Pero, cuando oí que venñia lo rescate y escuchándolo una y otra vez, pues como que en directo debe de ser sorprendente.

Leas donde leas, busques donde busques, escuches donde escuches (sorpresa me lleve el otro día escuchandolo en Rock and Gol) todos hablan de una maravillosa voz Soul profunda y potente, que al más puro estilo de los grandes del género, recordándonos matices de cada uno, sabe llevar al extremo su garganta para rabiar temas rítmicos, como sabe aterciopelarla para mecernos en el alma de un tema tranquilo.

Y para que abrais boca os pongo el corte con el que comienza el disco. Ojo, el resto de pistas os las dejo descubrir a vosotros solitos...merece la pena. Pongo el tema de estudio y el tema en directo. El motivo es bien sencillo, la calidad del audio no es tan buena como para apreciar al 100% su magnífica voz, pero no podeis dejar de verle desenvolverse en el escenario.

¿Qué si iré a verle? Pues quisiera, pero actuan en la noche mágica por excelencia...ya se sabe la noche de reyes y, todos aquellos que tengan hijos saben que hay que meterse pronto a la cama para que vengasn sus majestades y al día siguiente madrugar para ver bajo los zapatos los regalos...así que lo veo chungo...rabiaaaaaaaa...

Disfrutad y seguid atentos al festival porque aún hay más....

The Commitments - Hard To Handle

Hay bandas sonoras que de vez en cuando hay que desempolvar...porque como los buenos vinos, con los años ganan...o no?

Música de esa que te pone las pilas. En una ocasión ya os puse la versión que hicieron de Mustang Sally, hoy os ofrezco un tema de Otis Redding en la quebrada e increible voz de Andrew Strong, el vocalisata de The commitments en la película. El film esta dirigido por el siempre orginal Alan PArker y narra la historia de unos parados que deciden salir adelante monatando uan banda de Soul. No sé si me gusta más la peli o la banda sonora. En esta película versionan clásicos del Soul y del Rythm and Blues de una manera excepcional, de Wilson Picket, Aretha Franlin, o este de Otis Redding. Os recomiendo verla y oirla. Después del film, el cantante siguó su carrera en solitario, no tvuo demasiado exito, pero si he de deciros, que lo que hizo mereció la pena.

Os dejo con la escena de la película en la que sale, pero como no aparece el tema completo, y es una pena, pues debajito, va la canción enterita para deleite de vuestros sentidos. Que os vaya bien este martes "duro de manejar".
